Don Jr’s sweet family photo sparks debate as fans spot detail: ‘Not next to the child!’
Donald Trump Jr. sparked some controversy over the weekend after sharing a series of photos featuring two of his children.
The eldest son of the president-elect posted the images on Instagram, where he boasts over 7.9 million followers.
“Game night and indoor s’mores!” the 47-year-old executive vice president of the Trump Organization wrote in the caption, just days after introducing his new girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, at a New Year’s Eve event in Mar-a-Lago.
In the photos shared on Saturday, the 38-year-old Anderson was absent, with Trump Jr. seen instead with his two youngest children, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 10.
Also missing from the pictures was Trump Jr.’s former fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, whom he began dating in 2018 and got engaged to in 2020.
Though the posts seemed relatively harmless, they quickly drew criticism from observers, not due to the presence of snacks, but because of a single canister of Zyn.
Zyn is a brand of nicotine pouch that is placed between the gums and lip, which has become increasingly popular among conservatives. The container was visible on the table where the family was snacking and playing games.
The children, who are from Trump Jr.’s marriage to his ex-wife Vanessa Trump, did not seem to be involved with the product. They were seen enjoying s’mores and throwing axes with their father, while onlookers raised concerns about the tobacco item.

Onlookers found issue with a single cannister of Zyn on the table near his youngest, days after he debuted his new girlfriend at his dad’s New Year’s celebration in Mar-a-Lago
Observers raised concerns about a single canister of Zyn placed on the table near Trump Jr.’s youngest child, shortly after he introduced his new girlfriend at his father’s New Year’s celebration in Mar-a-Lago.
“Not the Zyn next to the child!” commented one prominent user, while Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host, prepares for her new position as ambassador to Greece.
“You probably shouldn’t let your daughter Zyn at that age,” quipped another user, seemingly in jest.
“It’s the Zyn for me,” remarked someone else, finishing the comment with a laughing emoji.
“S’mores and Zynns,” declared another, using emojis to convey their amusement at the situation.
Others noted the product’s closeness to the children but didn’t express concern, pointing out that the canister was closed and the kids seemed unaware of its presence.
“The joy and happiness in this family,” wrote one observer, while others encouraged the poster to reconcile with Guilfoyle.
“And I see the Zyn. Spittin while huntin,” joked another commenter.
This post and the ensuing reactions come in the wake of Zyn becoming an unexpected symbol of conservative masculinity over the past year, partly due to endorsements from figures like Tucker Carlson and the founders of the Full Send podcast.

This news follows reports from weeks earlier indicating that Trump Jr. and his then-fiancée had been having public disputes at various events, shortly after purchasing a $9.7 million home in Admirals Cove, located 20 miles north of Mar-a-Lago, over the summer.
Their relationship has since deteriorated, with sources telling the Daily News last month that Trump Jr. has been seeing Anderson, a model from a wealthy Palm Beach family, for at least six months.
As these reports surfaced, Trump Jr. felt compelled to address the situation, stating that the breakup was amicable.
“Kimberly and I will always care for each other and maintain a special bond,” the then 46-year-old remarked, celebrating his birthday with Anderson just a week later while welcoming the New Year. His birthday falls on December 31.
He told Page Six, “I couldn’t be prouder of her and the significant role she will continue to play as the U.S. ambassador to Greece,” referring to the recent appointment his father had approved.
Trump Jr. also praised the former California attorney, saying, “She’s been an undefeated prosecutor, a national TV news star, a leader of the MAGA movement, and a close advisor to the president.”
It also comes weeks after reports suggested Trump Jr and his then-fiancée had been arguing publicly at various events, all after buying a $9.7million home 20 miles north of Mar-a-Lago over the summer
